We strive to provide a safe environment, which offers comfort and care for children, meeting their developmental needs in a visually appealing, clean, positive, and inviting atmosphere. The children learn to trust and gain confidence when their physical and emotional needs are met in a consistent, loving atmosphere.
Lily’s fully supports the principle that young children learn through play, and by engaging them in well-planned and structured activities. The nursery’s planned activities are organized in order to promote learning, and personal growth and development. We want our children and our SEND children to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and cooperate with others while at the same time developing their knowledge and skills, to achieve their true potential.
Students who experience any physical disability will be provided with the support, accommodations, and curricular modifications (IEP and IPP) required to enable rightful access to participate in any activity in the nursery.
The curriculum is a combination of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Reggio Emilia approach designed to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. The combination provides the cognitive, social/emotional/physical, language, and individual needs of each child.

EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘nursery readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills.

Reggio Emilia :

The Reggio Emilia approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as curious, talented, and spirited, rich with wonder and knowledge that provide the right foundation for good future progress through nursery and life. It is an approach to teaching, learning and advocacy for children.

Our qualified and experienced teachers aim to create rich and meaningful early learning experiences for your child through the Reggio Emilia approach and the EYFS. They encourage curiosity and experimentation and have chosen materials that help expand children’s thinking. Basic learning materials include sand, water, and tools to use with them, large and small blocks, puzzles, dramatic play props (dress–up clothes, puppets), items for scientific investigation (magnets, balances, and weights), computers,books, cd’s, musical instruments, art and drawing supplies, and climbing structures with slides. Positive social interaction is encouraged by helping children to develop their verbal skills and to express their feelings in appropriate ways

The Hundred Languages of Children :

A hundred always a hundred ways of listening of marveling, of lovinga hundred joys for singing and understanding a hundred worlds to discover a hundred worlds to invent a hundred worlds to dream.The child has a hundred languages(and a hundred hundred hundred more)but they steal ninety-nine.The school and the culture separate the head from the body.They tell the child:to think without hands to do without head to listen and not to speak to understand without joy to love and to marvel only at Easter and at Christmas.They tell the child:to discover the world already there and of the hundred they steal ninety-nine.They tell the child:that work and play reality and fantasy science and imagination sky and earthr as on and dream are things that do not belong together.And thus they tell the child that the hundred is not there.The child says:No way. The hundred is there.

Parents as Partners

At Lily’s parents are our partners. Parents play a major role in our nursery. Parents are always welcome to come and share their experiences with their children and to be active volunteers in activities done in the nursery. Parents can read, tell a story, share a recipe, explain a lesson, or take any part in their children’s classrooms. Children will feel proud of their parents. The nursery will have a database of parents’ skills and talents and will contact them when any opportunity arises for these skills and talents.

Throughout the calendar year, the nursery hosts various workshops and coffee mornings to further educate parents about the curriculum and approach, and on child development or any other topic needed.

Parents receive updates on their child’s experience and communicate positives of their child’s progress on a daily basis through a custom-made application and monthly newsletters.

In order to best serve the needs of our community and our parents, we offer a wide variety of

programs for children from 45 days to 3 years of age. In addition to our full-time programs, parents can select part-time schedules for their children.
